The National Judicial Council (NJC) has recommended the appointment of Justices Nathan Musa and Ozoemena Raymond Afojulu as the Chief Judges of Adamawa and Enugu states.
It also recommended the appointment of two Grand Kadis for the Sharia Courts of Appeal in Adamawa and Niger States; and five Presidents of the Customary Courts of Appeal in Abia, Adamawa, Cross River, Osun, and Plateau states.
The NJC, according to its Director, Information, Soji Oye on Friday, made the recommendations at its 96th meeting held in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital between December 14 and 15.
According to Oye, the NJC further recommended the appointment of 54 judges.
He said all recommended candidates are expected to be sworn in after approval of NJC’s recommendations by the respective state governors and the respective state Houses of Assembly, as the case may be.
