Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has inaugurated the Kano-Maiduguri Road, Section II (Shuwarin-Azare) connecting Jigawa and Bauchi states.
A statement issued in Abuja, the nation’s capital by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing stated that the recently inaugurated 142.2km dualized road had increased to five, the number of such roads completed and handed over to various communities in Nigeria within three weeks.
In his address at the latest road inauguration, Buhari, who was represented by the Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, called on Nigerians, especially the communities through which the roads passed, to take ownership and protect the infrastructure.
He revealed that the roads have been built to the highest quality of design and workmanship in order to enable them last their designed lifespan.
The President described the newly inaugurated roads as part of the Federal Government’s many roads to prosperity.
