There was tension on Thursday as residents in Chukuku, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), barricaded the Kuje/Gwagwalada road.
Reports indicate that the protesters took to the streets to demand Federal Government’s quick reaction to combat insecurity.
In photos trending online, the protesters carried placards asking the Federal Government of Nigeria to save them from kidnappers.
A resident, Musa Abdul, told newsmen that a kidnapping gang had invaded Chukuku community in Kuje Area council on Thursday morning.
Abdul said they raided several homes shooting sporadically into the air.
He said two persons, a woman and man, were abducted and later released.
When contacted the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Josephine Adah confirmed the incident and said normalcy has been restored.
